There is a fair amount of evidence that the older kids behave better when in the presence of kids in the early grades.
Whether this is purely anecdotal or actual documented observable phenomena, I don't know.
And I would want to see how the younger kids are affected. Do they model mostly the positive behaviors of the older students. Or do they start acting like pubescent 13 year olds a couple of years earlier?
Research and considerable anecdotal observations across the country supports the concept that the middle school model is the bump in the road - the weak link -the "bermuda triangle" - in the academic and social development of children. Research, observations and common sense indicates the benefits of a K-8 model over the middle school model include: greater parental involvement, the kids experience less anxiety, mentor younger students, develop leadership skills and responsibility, the environment is safer and offers the kids a more seamless transition; they are less likely to “fall through the cracks”, have reduced feelings of anonymity, achieve higher levels of academic growth over time, show higher self-esteem, experience less victimization by other students, show greater levels of participation in extracurricular activities, have healthier adolescent development, less sexual activity, higher attendance rates and fewer disciplinary problems.

Hello. My wife and I bought our house about 6 months ago. It was a foreclosure and we were able to get a great deal on it. We also took advantage of the 8K tax credit so that definitely helped.
